A COURTESY VISIT BY THE CEO OF THE NATURAL ECO-CAPITAL, DR EUGENE ITUA TO THE BUEA COUNCIL.

Following a request for an audience from the Cameroon Office Representative, of the National Eco-Capital (NEC), the CEO of NEC, Dr Eugene Itua, a sustainability Expert, all the way from Nigeria paid a courtesy visit to the Lord Mayor of the Buea Council, David Mafani Namange Esq. on Wednesday 10th of January 2024, in his modest office at Clerks Quarters – Buea.

During the visit, the CEO took the opportunity to shed more light on the activities of his company and spoke briefly on the possibilities of partnering with the Council to build an ecosystem to ensure that waste plastics are well managed as well as assist the Council to draw a sustainable waste management plan for the Buea Municipality.

On his part, the Lord Mayor welcomed and thanked the NEC officials for the lofty initiative which is very timely because the Communal Development Plan (CDP) of the Council was just validated in December 2023 at the Budgetary Session.

Due to time constraints, the NEC officials were urged to prepare a letter of intent addressed to the Council, making proposal on possible areas of collaboration and partnership.

NEC officials also took the commitment to facilitate Buea Council’s membership into the C40 Cities, a global network of Mayors of the World’s Leading Cities who are united in action to fight against climate change.

It should be noted that NEC is a sustainable firm with the objective of supporting public and private organization’s drive for sustainable resilient business economy.

The visit roundoff with the exchange of gifts and the signing of the visitor’s book by CEO of NEC. More symbolic was the handing of pens fabricated from recycled newspapers to the Lord Mayor.
