THE LORD MAYOR OF BUEA, PAYS A CONDOLENCE VISIT TO THE HEAD OF CHANCERY, NIGERIAN CONSULATE BUEA.

Following the sudden death of H.E TOAFIK OBASSANJO Coker, Nigerian Consul General for the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon, on the 16th August 2025, The Lord Mayor of Buea David MAFANI NAMANGE Esq yesterday 27th August 2025 led a six-man delegation to the Nigerian Consulate office, Buea, for a condolence visit, on behalf of the population of Buea. Taking the rostrum, the Lord Mayor expressed his deepest sympathy for the great loss. According to him, the sudden death of the diplomat, was heartbreaking given that he recently paid a courtesy visit to his office on the 1st of July 2025.

He however was comforted with the fact that death is certain notwithstanding when it will come. In his own words, he said: “…. From the day we are born, we are conscious of the fact that we shall die one day…”.

On his part, the Head of Chancery, Mr ODUNNA Henry extended his gratitude to the Mayor and his entourage for the condolence visit, following the sudden demise of their Late Consul General.  According to him their presence at the consulate office at this period showcased the cordial and brotherly relationship that exist between the people of the South West Region, Buea in particular and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

At the end of the visit, the Lord mayor handed over a condolence letter to the Head of Chancery and after which he signed the condolence register to immortalise the visit.
