The Lord Mayor of Buea Municipality, David Mafani Namange Esq, yesterday 27th January 2026, warmly received in audience HE Volkan Oskiper, Turkish Ambassador to Cameroon. The Turkish Diplomat was accompanied to the visit by his close collaborators and HRH Senator Ekoko IV, who doubles as the President of Cameroon Türkiye Business Council (CTBC).
In his opening statement, the Lord Mayor of Buea, David Mafani Namange Esq, welcomed the Ambassador and his entourage to the peaceful City of Buea, the City of Legendary hospitality and went ahead to present a brief history of the city. According to him the City is Cameroon and the South West Region in miniature and has potentials socially and economically. He then appealed to the Ambassador to facilitate in the opening of avenues for Turkish investors to invest in Buea as well as work with the Council on a win-win basis.
On his part, the Turkish Ambassador said he is happy to visit the beautiful City Buea for the first time since his appointment as Ambassador. He further noted that Buea has a lot potentials which needs exploitation especially in the domains of culture and sports.
The two authorities later on deliberated on some priority projects which needs urgent attention as well as discussed on investment opportunities and collaboration ties between the Turkish Embassy and the Buea Municipality.
The courtesy visit rounded- off with group photographs and the signing of Visitor’s Book by the Turkish Diplomat to immortalize the visit.
