On Wednesday, the 23rd of July 2025, the Buea Council was blessed with a courtesy visit of Mme Lisa JENNIANS, Political Officer of the British High Commission to Cameroon Yaounde.
The visit was in line with the diplomat’s contact tour in Cameroon after her appointment over six months ago. The raison d’être of the visit was to abreast herself with the current realities on the ground.
During the exchange session, the Lord Mayor of Buea Council, David MAFANI NAMANGE Esq, presented the economic and socio- political background of Buea the City of legendary Hospitality from the colonial period to the present date. The Mayor also used the occasion to entreat the diplomat to help facilitate the twinning between the Buea Council and other British Councils as well as partner with the Council financially and technically to revamp the Buea Forest Reserve on a win- win basis.
At the end of the visit, the British diplomat expressed her appreciation for the warm hospitality extended to her by the mayor and his collaborators. In her own words the diplomat said; “It was a pleasure to meet the Mayor and hear about improved conditions in Buea. Thank you for such a warm welcome….’
