The population of Wonya Lyonga, a quarter of Buea Town today Thursday 30th November 2023, are filled with joy as the challenging water crisis in the community has been minimized with the gift of a giant public water supply initiative.

This is as a result of a partnership between the management of Buea Council, through Mayor David Mafani Namange Esq, and Mr. Jackson Teke Malange an Elite of the Wonya Lyonga community and a seasoned financial controller in Buea. In the drive to solve the water crisis in the Buea Municipality, the Buea Council is actively working not only as an institution but in collaboration with all those willing to partner in all developmental activities. The Wonya Lyonga borehole is just one of the many others that are to be realized in the coming days. Mr. Jackson Teke Malange appreciated the council through Mayor David Mafani Namange for coming to the assistance of the community with such partnership. He said: it is a blessing to give back to the community and support the council’s efforts in reducing water scarcity in the Buea Municipality. The Lord Mayor on his part seized the opportunity to call on all denizens of Buea who are willing to partner with the council, that the doors are opened for such initiatives, and adviced the population to maintain this project with care and encouraged the formation of water management committee to ensure the constant flow of water and environmental care.
