LIGHT-UP FAKO PROJECT LAUNCHED IN BUEA
The streets of the Buea Municipality are set to shine brighter following the launching Thursday 21st of November 2024 of the Light Up Fako project. This lofty initiative aims at enhancing the safety, security and will go a long way to give the city of Buea a new facelift through the installation of streetlights in some strategic parts of the Municipality.
The project carried out by LIGHT UP FAKO in partnership with the Buea Council, reflects the Council’s commitment and vision to improve on the living conditions of the inhabitants of the cosmopolitan City of Buea. The launching ceremony was presided over by Madame Nche Idah Mambo, Secretary General of the Buea Council, Representing the Lord Mayor of Buea Council who was absent due to some administrative imperatives.
The representative of the Mayor highlighted the importance of the project and went further to emphasize that the project is meant to improve on night time traffic, improve visibility at night, as well as improve on the economic potentials of business persons. She also noted that The Light Up Fako project comes as a response to growing concerns of inhabitants of some parts of Buea, who have on a regular basis been decrying the numerous road accidents and insecurity caused by the absence of street lights. The project was launched in the presence of Buea Council officials, Authorities of Light Up Fako and a cross Section of the population who came to witness the solemn ceremony.
