THE BUEA COUNCIL SIGNS A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) WITH THE MINISTRY OF WOMEN EMPOWERMENT AND THE FAMILY
Following a request addressed to the Honourable Minister of Women Empowerment and the Family, (MINPROFF) Prof. Marie-Therese Abena Ondoa, the Buea Council is privileged to be accompanied by MINPROFF to assist in the project to establish 706 birth certificates to children who do not have the said documents. As a result of this MOU which was signed on the 30th of December 2024 in Yaoundé, the Buea Council received financial assistance from MINPROFF. This assistance will enable the Council to continue with its ongoing efforts to establish free birth certificates for children who hitherto did not have this very important document.
The Buea Council seizes this opportunity to express its gratitude to the government of Cameroon under the astute leadership of H.E. President Paul Biya through MINPROFF and its partners involved in this lofty idea of giving each child an Identity.
We therefore invite parents of children without birth certificates who were delivered in Buea to get in touch with the Buea Council Civil Status Bureau at Rooms 101 and 102 respectively, while encouraging parents who were recently blessed with children to do well to come with their delivery certificates to permit us to proceed with the establishment of birth certificates for their children.
